Ignatius Press and Augustine Institute are partnering on an elementary school and parish religious education curriculum called Word of Life. This is a comprehensive curriculum for grades K-8 that will provide a faithful and dynamic presentation of the Catholic faith. They are looking for freelance writers for Grade 3 through 5 level religious education materials to assist in the production of the curriculum.

Writers should be current or recent elementary school teachers with at least two years of experience teaching religion classes. Experience teaching in one of Grades 3 through 5 and a degree in theology and/or education preferred.

Job Description: The writer will provide the lesson content for the teacher manual and student text for the Grade 3, 4, or 5 curricula. Lesson components include teacher and student lesson content with art and activity recommendations. The estimated word count for each chapter is 5000 and the writer will be expected to turn in two chapters per week. The writer will create the content according to a scope and sequence and directives provided. Content written belongs to the Word of Life Curriculum and is subject to review and revision by the curriculum team.
