Design, Realization and Restoration of Architectural Stained Glass.
Beyer Studio, Inc. (the studio that is restoring and creating the windows for Christ the King Chapel) is looking for young men and women who are interested in pursuing a career in the ancient craft of stained glass. Applicants should possess an interest in religious art and the physical process of creating it. Over 95% of the work at Beyer Studio involves the design and fabrication or restoration of windows for Roman Catholic churches. No previous experience in stained glass is required. A knowledge of Catholicism and other Christian religions and symbolism is desirable. Ability to work with your hands is required.
Trainees will be taught all the processes involved in stained glass. This includes learning how new windows are made and how existing windows are restored.
We train all employees in all aspects of the trade, including on-site removal of windows to be restored and installation of windows. This requires a natural ability to climb and work on scaffolding or ladders. If you are afraid of heights, this is not the job for you. On-site work often requires travel and time away from home. Applicants should be willing and able to accommodate reasonable requests for such travel. All travel expenses are paid by the studio and do not involve employee out-of-pocket payments.
