The Chief of Staff (COS) shall serve as a member of the Bishop’s cabinet of the Diocese of Saginaw and provide logistical support as directed by the Bishop of Saginaw to support his chief roles of teaching, sanctifying, and governing the faithful.  The COS will also have primary oversight over those functions related to the external and community affairs of the Diocese, specifically with donors and advisers, as a liaison for the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan, as well as internal (intra-chancery) and external communications (parishes, schools, affiliated institutions and communities as well as the general public).  Additionally, the COS will serve as the point of contact for special events as discerned by the Bishop and the Cabinet.

The Chief of Staff plays an important role in connecting various important disciplines and persons across the Chancery and fosters mutually responsive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. The COS collaboratively assists in coordinating/connecting with diocesan operations and administration to ensure the diocesan’s goals are met in carrying out the mission of Jesus Christ.
