The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City is seeking a director of Children’s Evangelization and Discipleship who is a visionary with a contagious spirit and advances the needs of children and their families through programs and opportunities centered on Christ and the teachings of the Church, supporting the New Evangelization in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for all aspects of parish catechesis and sacramental preparation, supporting parish catechetical programs offered throughout the archdiocese, including but not limited to Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, family-based catechesis, and traditional models of religious education. Responsibilities will include ensuring that offerings are in keeping with the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church, with a particular emphasis on missionary discipleship. The director will work in conjunction the Secretariat for Evangelization and Catechesis to assure that all parish catechetical efforts, sacramental preparation and other ministry offerings for children and their families are actively engaged in preaching and teaching the Word of the Lord and drawing those served into a deeper relationship with Christ. The successful candidate will be a Catholic in good standing, possess a bachelor’s degree, and be able to travel extensively throughout the archdiocese. Bilingual in Spanish is required.
