The Associates of St. John Bosco (ASJB) is a Catholic non-profit organization based in the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia, that enables rising college students to transition into their college years and keep their Catholic faith at the center of their lives. Since 2011, ASJB has given thousands of local high school and college students the tools and connections to stay strong and grow in their faith during their college years.

ASJB is seeking to expand its fundraising and development efforts with a Development Coordinator. This new position will be hired as a part time, remote, independent contractor, and will report directly to the President and College Division Chair.

The Coordinator will be charged with expanding the organization’s donor network and donor solicitation efforts. The Coordinator will develop annual fundraising strategies for acquiring new donors, as well as maintaining and increasing the support of current donors.


  • Organizing current list of donors and contacts
  • Strengthening current mailing list and prospects list
  • Managing existing and new foundation/grant opportunities
  • Seeking alternate sources of revenue including planned giving, corporate matching gifts,  and church tithing programs, Knights of Columbus councils, etc.
  • Identifying potential sponsors for annual benefit dinner and securing their support
  • Employing best practices in all gift processing, database management and donor relations
  • Ensuring accuracy of all database records, timely acknowledgement of gifts, and responding to donor questions about their gifts
  • Other duties as assigned by the President and College Division Chair

The Coordinator will report to the President and College Division Chair and prepare monthly financial progress reports. This includes communicating all development income progress to ASJB’s leaders through printed or emailed reports.


  • Demonstrated ability in fundraising for other nonprofits
  • Exceptional written, spoken, and virtual communication skills
  • Experience working with database and donor management software (Method: donor preferable)
  • Self-motivated, independent, able to work efficiently and generate new and creative ideas for fundraising
  • Fully embraces the ASJB mission

Seeking a resident of the Northern Virginia area, preferably a practicing Catholic. A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of professional fundraising experience. Compensation commensurate with experience.
