Chelsea Academy is seeking a highly motivated candidate who can offer a daily and positive witness of his or her faith for students at Chelsea Academy (grades K-12).
Desired candidates should also have a knowledge and appreciation of the Catholic intellectual tradition, classical and liberal arts pedagogy, a passion for educating and forming Christian youth, and a spirit of adventure. This blended position will combine the function of “Dean of Students” and “Athletic Director”. As such, this position is responsible for overall student management including extracurricular activities and discipline; likewise, he or she will also develop, manage, and supervise the school’s athletic programs.
In the function as Dean of Students he or she will be responsible for ensuring that Chelsea Academy establishes and maintains a positive culture of behavior and learning, supporting teachers in behavior management and student discipline. He or she oversees the efforts of the Student Life Adjunct and allied faculty, is responsible for action required due to disciplinary infractions, serves on the Administrative Team, and oversees the planning and execution of all student activities that are not academic in nature.
In the function of Athletic Director he or she is responsible for the seasonal Chelsea sports teams: including the procurement of coaches, ensuring that games are scheduled within the scope of the league(s) within which Chelsea participates, scheduling of appropriate officials, coordinating with the Booster Club, and that the securing of facilities for practices and games.

- Required: Practicing Catholic in good standing
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree
- Preferred: Master’s Degree; experience in classical curriculum and pedagogy; Virginia Teacher’s License (not required);
- 5 years of experience as teacher and administrator in a secondary school.
