Divine Mercy Novena - Christendom College
The remembrance of your living and deceased loved ones in the Divine Mercy Novena will be offered by the Christendom Community from April 15, 2022 (Good Friday) through April 23, 2022 (Eve of Divine Mercy Sunday). The names of your loved ones will be placed on the altar of Christ the King Chapel during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on Divine Mercy Sunday.
How to Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet
1. Using rosary beads, begin with the Sign of the Cross, say one “Our Father,” one “Hail Mary,” and “The Apostles’ Creed.”2. Then on the “Our Father” beads say the following: Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
3. On the ten “Hail Mary” beads say the following:
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. (Repeat step 2 and 3 for all five decades.)4. Conclude with (three times):
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.Closing prayer: O Blood and water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a Fount of Mercy for us, I Trust in You!
St. Faustina, pray for us!
St. John Paul II, pray for us!Excerpts taken from the Diary of St. Faustina Kowalska – Divine Mercy in My Soul:
“Souls that make an appeal to My mercy delight Me. To such souls I grant even more graces than they ask… before I come as a just Judge, I first open wide the door of My mercy."
- Notebook III, #1146“My daughter, encourage souls to say the chaplet which I have given to you. It pleases Me to grant everything they ask of Me by saying the chaplet. When hardened sinners say it, I will fill their souls with peace and the hour of their death will be a happy one.
- Notebook V, #1541“Write this for the benefit of distressed souls; when a soul sees and realizes the gravity of its sins, when the whole abyss of the misery into which it immersed itself is displayed before its eyes, let it not despair, but with trust let it throw itself into the arms of My mercy, as a child into the arms of its beloved mother.
